Aside from the rain, I didn't love the race course. The 10k course was the same as the 5k course ... except doubled. 10k runners were dodging people left and right, especially since it was such a family friendly event. Think lots of strollers, walkers, and even dogs.
Once I finished I quickly got a bottle of water and headed back to my car. I just wanted to get home FAST so that I could shower and warm up.
Not every race is going to be a PR or the best race ever. Weather on race days can be so fickle; I'm proud of myself for even going out there and running with the rain. Bonus was not falling down and hurting myself!
- I placed 39th out of 255 10k finishers (males and females)
- I placed 11th out of 154 female finishers
- I placed 5th in my age group (30-39 years old) out of 67 finishers
- time 49:02 minutes, 7:53/mile
