The scariest fall

We all know that I'm super clumsy. We also know that I have a history of falling while running. Yet I was still shocked when I found myself sprawled on the sidewalk 1 mile into my 2 mile run.

Yesterday afternoon I set out for a short 20 minute jog while Mason napped and Ryan worked.  I was checking my phone for my mileage so I could turn around at the 1/2 way mark and then I fell. Tripped on a crack in the sidewalk and slid along the ground. I quickly assessed my injuries and checked my right arm for any breaks and dragged myself up. I was bleeding, a lot, but managed to walk the mile back home.

Before I went inside the house I called my ob/Gyn to speak to a nurse about any possible trauma to baby.

After going inside and showing Ryan my battle wounds, we did the best at cleaning myself up and waking Mason up from his nap. We headed to the doctors office to get checked out.

Fortunately we heard baby's heart beat which made me feel a lot better. The doctor said there wasn't any reason to believe baby was affected so I was able to go home.

Boy am I sore today. Mason was not a fan of all of the ouchies and even offered to lend me some Elmo bandaids.

I'm not sure where I stand with running right now. Definitely taking a break to heal and rest but we all know I'll be running again soon. Probably on the indoor track and super smooth paved surfaces for awhile.

The following pictures were all taken today ... no bandaids at the moment ... trying to dry them out if that makes any sense.
