My run was interrupted when I spotted a young woman laying on the ground and a bystander urgently asking me if I could call 911.
I obliged and after spending some time on the phone with the emergency medic I began to feel sick from the situation. I was queasy seeing this poor incoherent 20's something girl laying on the ground, one shoe off, bleeding, and asking "what happened" over and over. Blame it on the pregnancy hormones or the fact that seeing someone truly injured from a fall hits way too close to home.
Fortunately a cyclist stopped when he saw the accident and was more "hands on" with the victim while I stayed on the phone. Once the fire truck arrived with help I was free to leave ...
I was pretty shaken up but managed to finish 1.5 miles before heading to my class.
Now onto the positive part of my morning ... I love taking classes at Xtend. The owners are so actively involved in your practice, making sure all questions are answered before and afterwards. They truly want to make sure your experience was a positive one. I definitely took advantage and asked a bunch of questions about pregnancy modifications.
The class was a tough 60 minutes but I feel so much better. I'm looking towards incorporating more core work into my current work out routine and think this may be the way to do it.
We already pay A LOT for our family gym membership at the YMCA, so it's hard to justify additional exercise expenditures. We'll see if I can find any more deals on classes before committing to a package. In the meantime I look forward to scheduling my next class that I scored 1/2 off with a promotion.
