That's right ... I didn't get my nails done, my hair done, a massage, or any other types of pampering for my alone time ... I just wanted to be outside and enjoy the outdoors.
I walked for 2.5 minutes then slowly picked up the pace. I had only wanted to do 2 miles and head home but a runner started chatting with me and kept me going a little further.
He was an older man, probably late 40's or early 50's, who was a marathoner. He was currently working on his 20 miler today in anticipation of 2 marathons coming up, only 6 days apart. He's already ran 21 marathons.
Wow. I was so impressed. He seemed so dedicated, but cool and collected while running. His dad had started running at age 55 and ran a 3:18 Boston marathon when he was 66. And has already run over 30 marathons. What??!!
I hope I can instill the love of running in Mason. It's a beautiful, tranquil sport that I treasure so dearly.
Happy Saturday.
