South End Shuffle 5k recap

On Saturday morning I ran in the 1st annual South End Shuffle 5k.

Race Website

Ryan and Mason joined me at the race since it started at 8am.  I was going into the race anticipating a finish time of 30 minutes.  I didn't want to push myself and wanted to enjoy the race.

Around mile 2 we looped back around to where we started the race and I was able to see my little cheerleaders.  The course was relatively flat except for around 2.75 miles where we hit a crazy hill ... not the way I want to finish.

I finished strong and gave Mason a high five as I ran to the finish line.

I love running races put on by Start 2 Finish ... they always have your finish times immediately after finishing.  I realized I finished 2nd in my age group and we decided to stick around until the awards ceremony.

I won a $15 giftcard to Inside Out Sports and am looking forward to supporting another local running store with my future purchase.

official race time ... 25:20 minutes, 8:09 min/mile
49th out of 170 runners
10th out of 81 females
4th out of 14 age 30-34 females

It was a great race, great weather, awesome logistics ... I would definitely run this race again next year!  The free race entry was the icing on the cake :)
