Bonding with Baby Yoga class

So when I signed up for some "Bonding with Baby" yoga classes, I was pretty sure I had lost my mind.  I mean what kind of class could possibly exist that would make taking a yoga with Mason seem fun and beneficial?

Fortunately for us our first class yesterday was a success!

from the Be Yoga Family website:
"Bonding with Baby yoga classes are a comfortable, supportive environment where parents and caregivers can meet, enjoy quality time with their babies, and experience the benefits of yoga without worrying about the little ones “bothering” others.
Each class has its own rhythm and includes yoga for the caregivers as well as some breathing and toning, yoga for parents and babies together, and massage and exercises for the baby. Bring a blanket for your baby and wear loose, comfortable clothes. No prior yoga experience necessary.  This class is for infants to almost-crawling."

Our instructor Amy (a mom herself) led the group of 4 moms through an easy and relaxing yoga practice.  It was a perfect way for me to ease myself back into yoga after taking the past 4+ months off since my wrist accident.

The babies all hung out in the center of the room and played with toys while we went through child's pose, downward dog, chair pose, and other movements.  I wasn't expecting a work out at all and left with some sore thighs from the walking lunges we did using our babies as weights.

I'm looking forward to the 2 classes I have left through my livingsocial deal.  The class was a great way to a) get out of the house b) have some minimal exercise and c) talk to other moms in the same situation.

Now if only I can make it back to the gym today to run some miles on the treadmill.  Taking two days off has got me feeling a little stir crazy.  The never ending rain in Charlotte isn't helping either.
