The best (and only way in my opinion) to experience a new city is by trying different restaurants.
Our first stop was happy hour on Friday to a new spot in our neighborhood, the Peculiar Rabbit.
The view from their roof top is incredible. We all chose small plates from the menu to try a bit of everything.
I stuck with a local Natty Greene's beer, the Buckshot Amber Ale, and tried the "Devils on Horseback." Both the beer and food were awesome.
The following day the girls and I headed to Owl's Eye Winery, in nearby Shelby, for some wine tastings.
The wine was delicious and I left with 2 bottles of their red wine. We had such a great time.
For dinner I took the girls to "Soul Gastrolounge" which is also located in my neighborhood. We sampled a few dishes and loved the pork belly tacos and sushi. For dessert I insisted we order the salted caramel and buttered popcorn cupcake.
It was heavenly. I could've eaten five or six more.
Breakfast the next day was enjoyed at Amelie's (sorry no pictures ... I was too busy inhaling my croissant and cup of French press coffee).
I highly recommend doing a food tour if ever visiting a new city.
I even managed to run off some of the calories on Saturday and did a slow walk/jog with Karen and Mason. We knocked out almost 2.25 miles and felt better about all of the over indulging :)
