Will run for croissants

This morning Ryan, Mason, and I continued our Friday breakfast tradition and went out to eat around 7:30am.  Ryan had suggested Amelie's French Bakery which was more than OK with me.  The bakery is located in NoDa, a trendy/artsy part of town, about 2 miles from our house.  It is open 24 hours, which might be dangerous when I'm craving a salted caramel brownie at 4am after feeding Mason.

Coffee, bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese on a buttery croissant, and a salted caramel brownie for dessert (I brought the brownie home and nibbled on it all day long).  This is definitely a meal that would fuel any run ... although maybe not right away.  I needed a few hours to digest :)

A little after noon I headed to the YMCA to get my run done for the day.  By this time the temperature outside was close to 80 degrees and there was no shade to be found on my usual 3 mile route, so off to the gym I went.

I realized that when I worked out during lunch hour at the YMCA downtown, all of the people at the gym were fellow business professionals who were trying to squeeze in a quick work out during their busy day.  The YMCA that I went to today (also located in NoDa) was full of 30-40 something year old women during that lunch hour.  That's really not the motivation I was looking for ... women casually pedaling away on the bike, slowly moving on the elliptical, and fast walking on the treadmill.

I, on the other hand, cranked out a killer work out in a small amount of time.  I ran over 3 miles and then did a couple of back exercises.

I set the weight to 40 pounds and did 3 sets of the following:
- lateral pull downs: 12 reps, 10 reps, 8 reps
- seated row: 12 reps, 10 reps, 8 reps

I finished off my work out with 30 sit ups ... first time working out my abdominal muscles since the baby.
