People always talk about pregnant chicks and their cravings. One of my cravings during the past couple of months has been sweets. Anything dessert like really. With this craving comes a large desire to bake. Ryan actually mentioned how often I've been baking lately. It's not like he's complaining about my desire to bake ... I think he enjoys all of the treats that I make.
Friday night I looked around the kitchen and realized I had puff pastry sheets in the freezer and some apples in the fridge. Those seemed like 2 perfectly good ingredients for dessert so after some googling I found the perfect recipe ... "Quick & Easy (and Yummy) Apple Tart" from the Pioneer Woman's website.
Ingredients:
- 1 whole Sheet Puffed Pastry, Cut Into Thirds
- 3 whole Apples, Cored, Halved, And Sliced, But Not Peeled (I only used 3 ... her recipe had 4)
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon (not included on her recipe)
How to make it:
Preheat oven to 415 degrees.
Place puffed pastry rectangles onto a baking pan that’s been sprayed with nonstick spray. Add sugar, salt, and cinnamon to apples. Stir to combine. Allow to sit for a few minutes.
Arrange apple slices on the pastry rectangles in a straight line, overlapping as you go.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Remove from pan immediately and place on a serving platter. Serve with a sprinkling of powdered sugar.
