very berry smoothie

I got home from the YMCA about 30 minutes ago and all I could think about was having a snack.  I guess running some miles can do that to a person.  Today's treadmill run was brought to you by "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef" on the Food Network.  I ran:
  • 3.08 miles in 26 minutes (3 miles in 25 minutes, 1 minute walking cool down 0.08 miles)
I didn't want to spoil my appetite for dinner tonight with Heather so I opted to make myself a cool and refreshing smoothie.  Into the blender went:
  • handful of frozen blackberries
  • handful of frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup of vanilla soy milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 heaping tablespoon vanilla yogurt
Not only is my afternoon snack pretty, it's also packed full of protein from the soy milk, yogurt, and protein powder. 

I've already hit over 12 miles with running in just 3 days!  Tomorrow will be a day off from running, followed by 3 miles on Friday and 3 miles on Saturday.  Hopefully.  It might end up being by first 18+ mile week of the year.  Big things are coming my friends, big things.
