I headed to the YMCA today to run some miles on the treadmill. I hadn't seen "Guy's Big Bite" on the Food Network in a while, so it was a nice change from the usual lineup. I ran:
- 3.16 miles in 27 minutes (26 minutes running, 1 minute walking cool down)
Once I was done with my cardiovascular work out, I headed to the free weights area for a bicep work out.
- bicep curls, 5 lb weights, 2 sets of 15 reps
- hammerhead curls, 5 lb weights, 2 sets of 15 reps
- concentration curls, 5 lb weights, 2 sets of 15 reps
Ryan and I had lunch today around 11:30am (which is way earlier than I usually eat) so by the time I got home from the gym I was starved. I decided to give a kale green monster a second chance. The first time I used kale in a smoothie the end product tasted like fresh mowed grass. Into the blender went:
- 1 cup vanilla soy milk
- 2 handfuls of kale (this time I took all of the hard, stem-like pieces off the leaves)
- couple of pieces frozen banana
- 1 tablespoon creamy, salted peanut butter from Trader Joe's
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
