After over a week of not working out I finally made it back to the gym this morning. It was glorious! Ok maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but the work out was definitely needed. I played it safe and did 30 minutes on the elliptical (2.5 miles) followed by 15 minutes on the seated bicycle (2.5 miles). The time seemed to fly by since I was watching HGTV and not paying attention to how long I was really exercising for. I figured doing some cardiovascular exercise was a good way to ease back into a work out regime after having both a stomach virus and cold the past 2.5 weeks.
Once Ryan and I got home from the gym I made us some green monsters using fresh spinach, frozen bananas, peanut butter, water, and protein mix. Since it was such a chilly morning I figured eating some hot, steamy oatmeal was a good choice for breakfast. I made our quick cooking oats on the stove top and mixed in some brown sugar and maple syrup. Delicious, toasty, and heart healthy! Ryan and I pinkie promised last night that today was going to be a start of us eating healthy and exercising more. It's really encouraging to have such a dedicated work out partner. I'm a very lucky girl :)
