the lazy girl's workout

So ... it's no surprise that I haven't exactly been motivated to work out.  Once it became clear that I wouldn't be able to run the half marathon I had planned for in October, I couldn't stop asking myself what the point of running was.  I mean running was always my go-to for exercise but without a race scheduled all motivation gets thrown out the window.

Last week I decided to take matters into my own hands and signed up for 40 days of yoga for $40 at Orlando Power Yoga.  If running wasn't going to motivate me then maybe yoga would.  So far I've gone to 1 yoga class.  Good thing I have over 30 days left in my pass.  Hopefully I'll get to a couple of classes this week.

I've also taken a liking to cycling in the gym.  Sitting down and watching TV while working out?  What's not to love?  Monday I managed to cycle for 22 minutes, 7:36 miles, all while chatting on my phone with Julie.  Yesterday I decided to up the mileage (and effort) and in 25 minutes cycled 10:05 miles.  Much faster pace and definitely more sweat (gross, I know).

Although I'm viewing the past 2 days of work outs as "lazy" I have to remind myself that it's still better than not doing anything at all.  Hopefully the fall weather will bring out the running bug again.
