monday's work out

Mondays usually mean getting back into the gym and getting serious about working out. Especially with less than 1 month until the wedding.


Yesterday was no exception. I had found an interval training guide in my Shape magazine from April so I decided to give it a whirl. The only changes I made was to go 7.5 on the treadmill instead of 9 since going that fast scares me. For the cool down I stayed at 4 to try to make up for not getting up to 9. All in all it was very tough and I'm looking forward to trying it again this week. At the end of 35 minutes the treadmill said I had gone 3.17 miles and burned 354 calories. The article said to burn 250 to 500 calories at least five times a week to "blast fat." Looks like I have a rough week ahead of me.


After I was finished with cardio I started my back work out. I split up doing back and biceps on the same day since I was getting sore and had time during the week to focus on each body part on its own day. Once I had finished the 3 back exercises I did 150 crunches.
Lat pull down
set 1: 40lbs, 12 reps
set 2: 40lbs, 12 reps
set 3: 40lbs, 12 reps
Low row
set 1: 40lbs, 12 reps
set 2: 40lbs, 12 reps
set 3: 40lbs, 12 reps
Row/rear deltoids
set 1: 30lbs, 8 reps
set 2: 30lbs, 10 reps
set 3: 30lbs, 10 reps
